About the Photographer

profile
Guido Mueller (Stans, Switzerland) is a passionate aviation photographer with a strong focus at military jet photography.

The spotlight of this website is to show you my best aviation pictures. The photography it's only a hobby for me. I still work as a design engineer for a world-famous aircraft company in Switzerland.

I’ve been interested in aviation since I was a boy and saw my first airshow in Birrfeld 1997 in Switzerland.
In 1999 I had a formative experience in Payerne: impressive JATO-assisted Mirage takeoffs and very fast low level flyover of two reconnaissance aircraft Mirage IIIRS are one of my best highlights in my life. My heart beats faster when I feel the power of the military jets.
From this past Airshows I only had the analog photos from my fathers camera.

My first own digital photos I took with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1. It was very difficult with the fast jets without a viewfinder and only the LCD Display. But some photos are also nice.
Later I had the privilege to borrow the mirror reflex camera from my father. After then I teaching myself to improve my knowledge of photography.

But the best is practice, practice and practice....
In less than a second you have the chance to get a good dynamic picture .... otherwise the jet is miles away from you in the next few seconds :)
That's the facination of aircraft photography...You don't have a second chance!

In 2014 I started with my own camera the Canon 70D. A really great camera for someone getting into photography. In Summer 2022 a new era began with the Canon R7. In combination of the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM objective I shoot the most pics.

Sometimes I pushed my camera to it's limits. But the woman or men behind the camera is the much more factor for good pics that a good cam body. I shoot RAW only as it affords me the ability for greater editing techniques with Lightroom and Photoshop. These tools allows me faster edits and to catalog all my photos.

I hope you enjoy my website and galleries. Feel free to send me some feedback either by clicking the contact button.
Thanks for the many positiv feedback and likes on my Instagram Account.
